Carbon Capture and the Climate Challenge
Despite the rapid expansion of renewable energy generation, global energy emissions continue to rise from heating, transportation and power production, albeit more slowly. On top of these, chemical emissions from many massive manufacturing processes continue unabated. Carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies are expected to play a pivotal role in reducing emissions. But these technologies don’t come without limitations, including high costs and energy requirements of their own.
